This was a challenging project. Mostly challenged during the design process by design team, procurement team and also funding teams... but it wasn’t challenging during the build or now when everything is completed.
At the end of the day SIPs made good sense for everyone involved. Now everyone feels proud for advancing the status quo and building better! Even with entry level homes, numbers can stack up.. because common sense does!
New products get challenged to great extends... and I agree with the process. But I find it surprising that conventional building methods, that also proved defective time and time again, mostly aren’t challenged at all!
I am glad to say I was involved in many pragmatic and clever studies and discussions to do with SIPs on this project and other large projects. And I am glad there is another example where SIPs proved to be the right choice.
