The de Bres Home is a contemporary house design, built on the back of the owners’ property for their daughter and grandchild who were preparing to return from Europe. Elevated from the road, this modern single level architectural design is in the beautiful Island Bay area, and seamlessly fits into the existing section, while providing the functionality of space that a small family requires.

Making use of the existing yard space, this modern home design is budget-friendly while utilising the spare backyard area and the compact open space design ensures the house fits seamlessly into the gently sloping section. The use of a low mono-pitch roof and natural larch cladding allows the home to blend into the hillside, enhanced by planting in the space between the two houses.

This contemporary home is also constructed with Formance Structural Insulated Panels (SIPS) that provide very high levels of insulation, airtightness and earthquake resilience.
