There is a lot of talk about the R-value and calculations about how much insulation you really need. But I would like to hear it from the homeowners and how it really feels on a cold winter morning...
A lot of talk about the R-values and specific calculations. Design of the building, orientation, size, openings, greatly impact overall performance, and also required insulation values. Somehow SIPs appear to be performing so much better than most insulation products that R2.8 doesn't seam to mean the same thing..
Most of projects around Auckland appear to be performing really well with 115mm SIP walls, while on South Island we standardly use 165mm. Just wondering if any clients ever thought they could do with more/less insulation... purely by experience.
